can you just explain that to people so they understand? Well, I am one of the founders and I'm

leading now the Palestinian National Initiative, which is the youngest Palestinian political party

in terms of age. It's 20 years old and it was initiated by a number of people like the well-known

intellectual Edward Saeed and Heider Abdi Shafi, who used to be the head of the Palestinian

negotiating team in Madrid. And many other political leaders who thought that Palestine needs a

third alternative, that this polarization between Hamas and Fata'a is not healthy and there

needs, there is a substantial amount of people who want to have a different vision and a different

view from what the authority represents, which is Fata'a in this case and Hamas. It doesn't mean that

we are antagonism with them and it's just that there is a certain silent majority in the Palestinian

society, which needs a different alternative. And this movement, which was initiated in 2002,

during the difficult time of the Second and Fata and the Israeli invasions, is first of all,

it took a very strong stand against Oslo agreement because we thought it was a big mistake.

Second, it has a program that includes three aspects. One is freedom, of course, from Israeli

occupation and the system of apartheid. Second, it's the need for a democratic internal system

where we have pluralism, where we have separation of powers, where we have people's participation and,
