We go right to Las Vegas. All the news has been so positive for so long we got used to it.

And now, Jeff, there's a mystery to me about Las Vegas. This is a growing city with perfect conditions.

Its senator piece is the strip, I understand, but it's got new sports teams.

It's got a big suburb that's attracting a lot of money, high-end housing.

And then it had the proposal from Hollywood to build a studio called Summerlin, I believe, in the

suburb of Summerland, bringing in glamour and high wages

and lots of Los Angeles' culture because of the fact that L.A. is no longer that attractive in

Las Vegas is, and they're going to put a high-speed rail line in and get you there in a couple hours.

So how is it that the Nevada legislature rejected a modest tax break for building a studio?

Now, I understand Reno is there and Vegas is there.

Is this some kind of local town gown dispute?

Good evening, John. It's a good question. There's certainly some money out there that's

pushing this. It passed through the assembly, the lower house, and it got stuck and killed in

the Senate on Monday night. And there's talk about where was the money coming from to influence it.

Was it from inside Nevada or was it from outside?

And a lot of fingers seem to be putting or pushing, a lot of the fingers seem to be

pointing from L.A. area, from Hollywood.

They want to keep it there.

But that's very hard to say because

they're being so quiet about it right now, and everybody thought it would pass. This is something

that, yeah, there's some town gown here. There are a lot of people in Vegas that want to put
