The politics of the fires of L.A. are now impossible to ignore.

The governor, in remarks to the media on camera, as far as I could say,

the governor mentioned something he called a Marshall Plan for Los Angeles.

And immediately there were questions, what is it?

Has there been any clarity from the governor's office or Sacramento about what they're talking about yet?

The only clarity I've heard out of the governor's offices, they're asking, right now,

they're asking for $2.5 billion in federal aid, but that's been about it.

And I would guess they also could add to that the fact they say, we want to work closely with the incoming administration.

But aside from that, the idea that it's a Marshall plan, you know, which was created to stave off

starvation in communism in Europe after World War II, has, you know, there's no real hard,

concrete plans here for what's going to happen next.

The governor has lifted some regulations so that rebuilding can begin without the usual permitting process.

It takes weeks or months. Now to the mayor, there is sympathy here for the mayor based on the fact that Karen Bass was elected to lead the city of Los Angeles, but she's not a fire chief. She's not a police chief.

She did immediately come back from overseas, and she was in Ghana at the request of the administration.

And what could she have done in the first 72 hours, which is what she did. She took the microphone

and talked directly to the people of Los Angeles.

She's been called in the East Coast, you know, the app-ed writers, a scapegoat for others.

What is the opinion in Los Angeles media? The opinion of Mayor Bass has been dim and getting dimmer as the days go by because,
