Off to New South Wales, Jeremy Zachus reporting on the expected El Nino weather not.

We were expecting El Nino to be dry and hot. The heats come, but the dryness nowhere in sight.

Jeremy, a very good day to you, momentarily it's not bucketing but you're sending me photographs

of a flooded Queensland there's talk of floods in New South Wales and you have rolling thunderstorms.

I wish I could tell you right now we're enjoying a typical Australian summer.

We're all at the beach having barbecues as beautiful

clear weather out there the sun is shining we're all having a fantastic time outside but

but I cannot say that in fact we're exactly the opposite you right. Right now it's not bucketing down because that's coming in half an hour again. John, we're getting rain on rain on rain. Not only today, Christmas Eve is going right through Christmas Boxing Day and almost we think now to at least New Year's Eve and when I say rain it's not your usual fall

We're literally getting buckets of rain so we're getting up to 20 millimeters which is about one and a half two inches across every single day

which means we're not only getting the rain we're getting the floods as well and this isn't

just localized here at the Sydney so I can complain about it and you know

there's no one else around the east coast that can sail we've got it differently

because it's all the way up to Queensland and all the way down south the Victoria as well.

And now this is a weather system we didn't anticipate

because all through November, our Bureau of Meteorology

was telling us about how we had to prepare for bushfires

over summer.

We had to prepare for Christmas day to be hot 40 degrees which is over 110 Fahrenheit

...
