Okay, we'll go ahead and get started.

And we're not only starting a new book, but we're starting a new section of the New Testament.

So, as I was just saying, a lot of tonight is going to be introduction.

So eventually, maybe tonight, maybe not, depending on how long I ramble,

we're going to be picking up in the epistle of St. James.

But we just finished St. Paul's epistle to the Hebrews,

which was the last Pauline material in the New Testament.

We've been in St. Paul's letters for, what, close to four years?

Yeah.

So we're closing that chapter, starting the next chapter of the general epistles,

of which the epistle of St. James is one.

And the general epistles or the Catholic epistles,

most of our Protestant friends prefer to call them the general epistles,

even though that's not the sense in which Catholic is being used,

just an aversion to that word.

But it's Catholic in the sense of being

cata olos, meaning

according to the whole, corresponding to the whole,

meaning they're written to the whole church,
