If someone goes on the record, what they're saying is, I am willing for you to write this down.

I'll attest to it.

This is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the

truth. Well, in 1 John chapter 5, we come to an amazing section of verses where God himself goes on

the record. Now remember, he is the unchanging God. He is the God that it is impossible for him to lie.

He is the God of truth.

But he attest to his own testimony.

He gives evidence to his own statement of fact.

He goes on the record so that we can know with certainty

that our faith is not founded in some children's fairy tale or some

figment of the imagination, some fantasy that man is concocted. No, it is rooted in the revelation

of God and God's work. And I don't know about you, that thrills my soul because I can know. I can

know because the very name and nature of God

backs it up. We've come in our study to 1 John chapter 5 verses 7 through 13. And they're fascinating

verses. Let me just read them to you. The Bible says, for there are three that bear record in
