For some, the Christian life has been reduced to a one day a week church service experience,

and yet God, in His Word, teaches us that we are to walk with Him daily.

Today we look to God's Word to discover simple Bible principles that will help we've been studying the daily Christian life.

And I want to spend just a day or two with you on one

verse, one verse that is a great footnote to our study and a principle, I think, that will be a great

encouragement to you. It's Psalm 118 in verse number 24, where the psalmist writes, this is the day which the lord hath made we will rejoice

and be glad in it you know every day that you live this very day is a gift from almighty god

proverbs 271 says boast not by self of tomorrow for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth

years ago someone said to me that

yesterday is like a canceled check. Tomorrow is like a promissory note, and today is legal tender. It's the

only thing that's negotiable. Today is all you have, this moment, this day. Well, I bring you to Psalm 118,

verse 24, because I want to talk to you for just a moment about ordinary days. You know, there are some days in life that are extraordinary.

I can think now of days like that. The day I got saved was an extraordinary day.

The day God called me into the ministry was extraordinary.

The day I met my wife and the day we married.

Oh, that was an extraordinary day.

The day each of our children were born and I held them in my arms for the first time.

Those were amazing, extraordinary days.

But to be honest with you, as I think about my life, most of my life has been made up not of

extraordinary days, but of ordinary days. Life is full of ordinary days, days when there's
