Summary

Hey friends! Have you felt that it is becoming increasingly difficult in our world today to raise children in the way of the Lord and seek to live out the Scriptures in a practical way? We shouldn’t be surprised by this, as we are told throughout the Bible that we are in a spiritual battle and that we who know Jesus are “in the world but no longer of the world.” Still it seems that we are highly under-resourced, or simply not even having the conversations we ought to be having about what we should do in light of this reality. Over the next few weeks, we are going to share some ideas regarding how we plan to implement a God-honoring approach to raising our kids in 2024 and beyond. We want to preface by saying that with this approach comes the likelihood of opting out of certain systems or ways of thinking that have become commonly accepted and considered standard—even for many Christians. We are simply opening the door for conversation and not shying away from asking questions like “why do we do things in *this* way?” or “Should we do something different instead?” If you’ve felt the same or are considering your own options, we welcome you to join us as we unpack this new mini series and we welcome your feedback and insight also!

1:00.3	parents and seven years of being married that the world we live in now is far different than where our
1:08.8	parents, our grandparents lived in, and I don't think that really comes as a shock.
1:13.0	I mean there's so much that you look around and if you say okay look I am a husband and a father seeking to honor God and honor my wife and my marriage and honor my
1:25.0	children and how I father them. But then you look around you can like have kind of
1:29.8	of huddle up together as a family in your house and be okay with that but then as soon as
1:34.3	you start turning outward and facing the world and looking at how do I how do I
1:40.0	live in the world but not be of the world and why does it seem like so much of it is an uphill
1:44.8	battle so much of it is swimming against the current and it's like what do I do as a
1:50.3	Christian in this world to be intentional in my parenting, be committed in my
1:56.9	marriage when it seems like everything is against it and this isn't some
2:00.0	sort of like a you know we're fishing for attention or we're looking for you know across
2:05.0	to bear it's just the reality and I know if you're watching this you're you're part of
2:09.3	our family our online family that probably can relate to and identify with a lot of these things.
