And today I want to talk about how to opt out of running.

We're going to talk today about why there's a temptation to run and how we can reframe running away from

something into walking toward something. I know for myself, when I think about running,

I'm instantly cringe, particularly like literally running. That's not my exercise of choice.

It does not bring me joy. I tried it.

I was miserable. It was not cute. It was not something I enjoyed. But ask me about running away

from my problems. I am an Olympian gold medalist at that. Or at least I used to be. I put in a lot of hard work, including

therapy and some honest conversations with myself, to really stop myself from a years-long

pattern of running. And so today I want to talk about what areas of your life may you be running from. And how can we

reframe what you're running from into what you're running to? Because here's the thing.

When you are on the run or running from something, you keep yourself locked in the struggle.

Because as long as you're running from something,

you're always just trying to get away from whatever's causing you pain.

But you're not necessarily charting a course toward your future.

You're not creating a life that you want.

I know when I spent years running away, I was exhausted.

I was frustrated and I was lost.

I never had a direction.

It was just get away from this situation, this person, this job.

But I didn't think about what I could be walking toward. And if you were in this similar pattern, I want you to give yourself some compassion

and understand that we live in a world that truly thrives on keeping us in a state of running, a state of movement.
