And it took me down this whole rabbit hole of thinking about how we talk about loss in

Western culture, in just the world in general, and how we can start to shift that for ourselves,

particularly as black women, where it feels like loss is so tied up in our legacy and our heritage that we think about

loss as this inevitable thing, which it is to be human, is to lose something or someone at some

point in your life. But also is like an expectation of the black experience that there's so much loss

built into blackness that if we dwell on that, it can really shape the way we engage with the

world. And I mean, that's what this podcast is about. It's about ways to opt out of struggle and
