Welcome to the Black Girl Burnout podcast, Kelly here, and we are back for part two of our interview and conversation with McKinney Smith.

0:17.6

Let's jump in and hear all about how McKinney centers a joy in her professional life.

0:26.5

Okay. So we're back with McKinney Smith. We had this great conversation about opting out of struggle and how you've been able to do

0:39.1

that McKinney and opt into this life of abundance. It sounds like great success and more importantly,

0:46.7

ease. You talked about last time that you don't work seven days. A week, you work three times,

0:51.7

three days a week and the success that you've had from that.

0:55.1

And so I want to pack some of that again, too.

0:57.2

I wanted us to go all the way back to something you said in our first episode when you were introducing yourself.

1:03.0

And that was that when you became an entrepreneur, you burned out almost instantly quite quickly because of the behaviors that you were doing. And I love

1:12.5

talking about this topic, particularly. I'm also an entrepreneur. But I think that there's some

1:34.2

And everybody got a side hustle.

1:35.5

Their side hustle got a side hustle.

1:36.9

They got a full-time job, a side hustle to side hustle.

1:39.8

And you're like, when are you sleeping?

1:42.2

And I admit to being that person for a time. I was very decisive. I knew I was going to get out of that and get into entrepreneurship. But for a while, it was like, how are people doing this? I'm out here. Like, just you're in struggle because you're just. And then people who work for entrepreneurs, they think, oh, I'm going to work for myself. It's going to be perfectly fine. And they, in many ways, the freedom that the entrapment or the prison they felt working for somebody else, they then create for themselves in their home business. So it's like, we leave being like, ah, deuce is to you. This has been terrible. I'm going to go find myself. I'm not burning out. I'm going to work for me.

2:18.3

And then people six months a year, two years later are like in a puddle like I very much was

2:23.5

working for somebody else because we've just brought struggle into the entrepreneurship game.

2:29.1

So I would just like to first have your response and thoughts responding to that concept
