Let's start with what you need to know with that big story.

Okay, so let's set up what's going on here first before we talk to Andy.

After the Wall Street Journal reported

on an announcement to Open AI staff, the company announced publicly that it will wind down

all its generative video services. It took me a while to actually believe that that's what I was

reading. But yes, the SORA app, the API access, video generation and chat GPT will all be sunsetted.

Timelines have not yet been announced, so you can still go use all that stuff right now, but they are going to end it.

OpenAI is instead going to focus on coding as its main product ahead of an IPO later this year.

Plans to combine chat GPT's desktop app, its Atlas browser, and the

Codex app all into one. The SORA team is going to transition to long-term bets, like robotics

and stuff. They're not going to be working on anything that will be made immediately. Sam Altman,

the CEO, moved safety to Mark Chen.

Altman was over safety.

Now Mark Chen in research has that.

Security goes away from Altman to Greg Brockman, who is in the scaling department.
