I'm John B from gangreneation.com, and on today's episode, we're going to do a 53-man

Jets roster projection.

We'll talk about why it might be the end of the road for a

fan-favor. We'll talk about why there may not be an equal balance of offensive and defensive

players, but we'll start by talking about why Cade Klubnick may have an open path to the number two

quarterback job. And this seems like a good time of the year to project out the 53-man roster.

We are in OTAs at the end of the off-season program.

So after the Jets finish these OTAs and their mandatory mini-camp,

the next time they'll be on the field is training camp.

And that's really when the competition for roster spots begins. So I looked

across this roster and I tried to figure out at this point in time, who are the 53 most likely

players to make the team? And of course, that could change through the course of training

camp and the preseason. Some players may emerge, others may fall off, but I think it's good to take

stock of where we are right now. So I started at the quarterback position. I think the Jets are going to

keep three quarterbacks this year. And I don't really understand why NFL teams in the year

26 would not keep three quarterbacks. Now, this was different prior to the NFL bringing back the third

quarterback rule in 2023. It essentially gives you a bonus active player each week who plays

quarterback, and essentially it allows you to make sure that you have a real quarterback playing

...
