Summary

So you read the parenting articles, brushed-up on the books, and did the research to approach a parenting issue intentionally. But, your plans quickly seemed to flop when you realized you were on a totally different page than your husband. How can mom be proactive and make a plan, while honoring, respecting, involving, and coming alongside her husband too? In this episode, Emily and Laura discuss the easy miscommunication traps we can fall into as parents, and share ideas for getting back on the same team. Mom and dad have the same ultimate goal: to pass along the gospel to the next generation, training up their children in the Lord.

I just wanted to let you all know that Lauren, I have been talking a lot about the pregnancy that

0:53.8

she's having, a paper pregnancy because... Yes, I'm adopting. It's kind of funny. We were chatting and

1:02.4

I was like, I've never said anything on the show about it. And I announced it on my personal blog

1:08.1

on Instagram and Facebook and all that good stuff. But we're really never said anything here. So,

1:13.9

we are adopting two kiddos from Eastern Europe, from Bulgaria to be specific. And we are just,

1:20.1

we're finished with our home study. We're in the process of completing a few final things. And then

1:25.2

we'll be, I was gonna say, we'll be over there, but our paperwork will be over there. And we'll

1:30.4

be eligible for two kiddos. We're looking for two kiddos of ages four and under. It's kind of the

1:36.0

hope a lot of people ask that question. So, yeah, we're really excited. It's pretty crazy. It's

1:41.8

pretty surreal to like finally be doing this thing that we've been talking about for so long.

1:46.0

Yeah, it's been amazing to watch Laura and her husband's just journey through this and just

1:53.2

beautiful to watch how much you know they are sacrificing and working on this to bring these

1:58.1

children. So, maybe we'll talk about this more someday. Oh, yeah, we're definitely talking about

2:03.2

adoption. And so, if you want to hear about stuff like this, let us know. Or if there's other

2:07.5

things that you want to hear about that you're like, why don't they ever talk about that? Yeah,
