I've been doing it for years um i'd say it's working that's right uh it goes both ways i give you much to be patient for as well um to

be about we're doing this conversation as a special episode of pastors talk at at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where we are presently hosting the nine marks at Midwestern and having a great set of conversations with various individuals.

But for this moment, what I want to do, or what we want to do is have a conversation with Jared Wilson, who, Jared, you've written how many books? 30 books. 30 books. That's crazy. One for each year of your marriage. That's correct. Yes. Is it really tied to your marriage? Yes, each book is about that year. That year of the diary of my life, yes. So we can go back and find some energetic patterns.

Yeah, you don't want to read books six and seven probably.

All right, none of that's true, by the way.

The 30 years of marriage is true.

The 30 years is true, that's right.

When I saw the table of contents, which is a book, lest we drift,

five departures, departure dangersure Dangers from the One True

Gospel.

I was struck by, I drift into victimhood, a drift into dryness, a drift into superficiality,

a drift into pragmatism, a drift into the new legalism.

I just thought, well, those five things could make for some

useful conversation in pastors talk. But, brother, before we get to that, for any listeners

or folk in the room who don't know you, you are both the pastor of Liberty Baptist Church. I'm a pastor. A pastor. A pastor. Yeah, one of the pastors there. You're also a professor and director of pastoral training at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. No, that's at the church. Director of pastoral training. Is that what you said? That's at the church. That's at the church. That's a residence. What's your title here? Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministry. Okay. Associate Professor Pastoral Ministry. If you read Book 28, all of this is in there. How to work to all that? I missed it. How do those two roles work together? The pastoring and the professoring.
