Welcome to episode 51 of the official Average Boy podcast. I'm Bob Smiley, aka Average Boy and I'm sitting up straight, totally focused on today's topic and sending you a subtle communication symbol called the Thumbs Up that shows I'm ready to podcast.

Wow, I'm Jesse, editor of Focus on the Family Clubhouse Magazine and I've never seen you like this, Bob. Of course, I want to point out that none of our listeners can see you because podcasts aren't a visual media.

Oh, I know that, Jesse. That's why I describe my body language.

Body language. That's a funny term that reminds me of a joke. What did one eye say to the other?

Oh, oh, eye eye, captain. No, but I like your joke. One, I said, there's something between us and it smells.

Well, but since your posture and thumb say you're ready to go, I have to ask, why are you so focused all of a sudden?

Well, as you know, this podcast is put out by focus on the family. So I decided to be more focused. I'm already part of several families. So I have that last part of the name down several families.

Oh, well, I guess that's true. You have your brother and your parents. That's your media family and then you have your grandparents and uncles and cousins, which are part of your larger extended family plus your part of God's family.

Yeah, and that's the biggest family of all. Man, that family reunion we're going to have in heaven is going to be awesome. I'm going to bring a Frisbee.

I don't think we'll need a Frisbee, but I agree God's family reunion is going to be amazing. It is. And I just thought I'd have a better chance of catching a Frisbee if, you know, I had some wings to fly around on.

Who hangs? That's a funny image, but I don't think we'll have wings in heaven. Angels are unique spiritual beings created by God. The Bible does say we'll get new bodies in the new heaven and new earth that will never perish.

You know, it's really cool to think about heaven. You know, when times get tough here on earth, it's important to remember that this is not our final resting place. As followers of Christ, heaven is our real home.

A place where there's no sadness, no death, no disease, just eternal life living in the awesome presence of God.

Oh, that actually reminds me of a message that we got from in him. He said his favorite Bible verse was from Revelation 22 verse 1.

Then the angels showed me the river of the water of life. It was as clear as crystal. It flowed from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

What an awesome picture of heaven. It's going to be cooler than we could even imagine filled with gold and angels and Frisbee.

Not this one, but I'm still confused. Do you want to talk about heaven or family or both on today's podcast? I have jokes for either, you know.

Oh, well, then neither one it is. Today I want to communicate to our listeners the importance of positive communication.

Oh, well, that works for me as an editor. I know just how important communication can be. Also, there's a lot of different ways to communicate.

You communicate with words, phone calls, texting, and body language, like you mentioned, such as, you know, facial expressions or hand signals.
