The good news of the gospel is only good news to those who hear it.

Philip the evangelist understood that. He did not keep the message to himself, but he went

wherever the spirit of God led him, and he preached Christ to those who needed to know.

to advance the gospel message.

There's a great deal of talk, and I might add a whole lot of confusion in our world today about the person and work of the

Holy Spirit of God. You know, some people want to use the Holy Spirit. But in Scripture, the emphasis

is not on you using Him, but on Him using you. See, that's the secret. That's the secret to the spirit-filled life. That's the

secret to the blessed life, the victorious life, the fruitful life. If you want to be a gospel

Christian and you want God to use you to make a difference in this world, then you must yield

yourself entirely, unreservedly, to the control of the Holy Spirit.

I believe this is one of the open secrets we find in the example of Philip the evangelist

in Acts chapter number eight. Now, we're returning to this thought of the Holy Spirit and Philip

and the Holy Spirit and me.

And in our last study, I said to you that the first principle that you have to identify is that Philip was open to the Holy Spirit.

I mean, he was not a man who was running in the wrong direction.

He was not a man who was doing his own thing.

He was a man who was sitting on ready waiting for the prompting of the Spirit of God and in the words of Scripture, whatsoever

he saith unto you do it. So he is, he's open to the Spirit. And the second principle that I want to

give you in this study really is just the continuation of that thought.
