| 0:00.0 | This is CBS I On The World. I'm John Batcher. Albany, capital of the very blue state of |
| 0:10.7 | New York. New York, city, the largest city in the galaxy, but also dominated by the Democratic |
| 0:17.7 | Party. However, I learned from Harry Segel, who writes a column for the New York Daily |
| 0:22.5 | News. He's also a senior editor at the city and online journal that being on the same |
| 0:28.6 | team doesn't mean you're going in the same direction. Most recently, there's news that |
| 0:33.7 | a steam judge, Hector LaSalle, has been rejected by the Albany legislature, his appointment |
| 0:41.8 | by the Democratic recently overwhelmingly elected governor, Kathy Hocal. Ordinarily, |

| 1:24.5 | and the legislature and for the people of New York? How should they regard this sudden |
| 1:30.1 | attempt? So Kathy Hocal, who just historically won |
| 1:37.2 | the term of her own as New York's first woman to be elected governor, her first big decision, |
| 1:43.0 | in a lot of ways, after signing off on a raise for the legislature, by the way, it makes |
| 1:47.4 | them the highest paid lawmakers, state lawmakers in the country, was nominating this guy, |
| 1:53.2 | Hector LaSalle, to be the chief judge of the Court of Appeals in New York to share. |
| 2:01.6 | LaSalle had been part of a panel of appeal court judges in New York who had several decisions |
| 2:09.3 | that the weft didn't like. And as soon as she said that he was the pick, voices of opposition |
| 2:19.0 | started to speak up. And Hocal said, he'll have a vote. And we'll decide from there. |
