One of the big concerns as we transition away from fossil fuels and toward electrification is that we're trading one set of national security

problems and Middle Eastern oil for another set of problems with China.

China, if you didn't already know, is the geographic home to many of the critical metals needed to produce EV batteries.

And if it's not the starting point, it's the location where they get processed and refined.

We're dependent.

So as automakers project huge numbers of EVs produced in the next decade and beyond,

the U.S. needs to establish a domestic supply for critical metals.

And that's where Megan O'Connor, who's my guest today on the podcast, enters the picture.

Megan is co-founder and CEO of Enth Cycle, a refining technology company that's starting to find ways

to establish domestic supply where there was none before for metals like Kobalt and Nickel, look no further than M-cycles facility being built in

Cincinnati right now, which is the first place in the US, she tells us, that's processing a certain blend of nickel as a prime example of this.
