Four members of the Islamist militant group Hamas have been arrested in Germany and the Netherlands

on suspicion of planning terror attacks against Jewish

institutions in Europe. As as Me Nicholson reports, the men are closely linked to

Hamas leaders. Germany's federal attorney general says two Lebanese men and

one with Egyptian citizenship

have been detained by police in Berlin and a man with Dutch nationality has been taken

into custody in Rotterdam. Prosecutors say all four men are long-standing members of Hamas. The group had

tasked one of the suspects with sourcing weapons to be taken to Berlin in preparation for

potential terrorist attacks against Jewish institutions.

Germany's Federal Interior Minister Nancy Feza praised the vigilance of the security authorities

and reiterated that they will use quote all constitutional means against those who threaten the lives of Jews

and the existence of the state of Israel.
