election interference case against former President Donald Trump.

NPR's Carrie Johnson reports Trump is appealing a key ruling against him in that Washington DC case.

Judge Tanya Chutkin says Trump should not have to face the burdens of litigation

while his appeal moves through the court

system. Trump says he should not have to face charges for attempting to overturn

the 2020 election because he has presidential immunity.

Special Counsel Jacksmith says no one is above the law, not even a former president.

Prosecutors have asked the Supreme Court to fast track an appeal.

The High Court is considering whether to speed up a decision to take the case.

While the Supreme Court and a lower appeals court in all the issues, the DC case will be at a standstill.

The judge had hoped to start that trial March 4th, 2024.

House lawmakers voting mostly along party lines of approved an impeachment inquiry into President

Biden. House Republicans alleging Biden and his family engaged in

influence peddling, including taking payments from foreign adversaries, though

so far Republicans have presented no clear evidence,

the inquiry centers around President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, and his foreign business

dealings.

The State Department says Israel has acknowledged it was a mistake to take and publicize

photographs of Palestinian men stripped to their underwear in Gaza.
