In Gaza, medical personnel say hospitals are packed with patients and are running low

on fuel and basic supplies.

As Palestinians struggle to find food, water, and safety ahead of expected Israeli ground

offensive in Gaza, NPR's Peter Kenyon says the timing of a ground attack isn't known.

We still don't know when it will happen, and that's quite deliberate on Israel's part.

IDF spokespersons have made it clear that the timing of any incursion is a tactical decision.

It won't be made public in advance, we'll know it when it happens.

There are reasons to believe it could be soon.

The biggest sign is the massing of troops closer to the border with Gaza.

NPR's Peter Kenyon reporting, the UN says more than 1 million civilians in Gaza are

displaced and hundreds of thousands have fled south.

The death toll is rising, at least 1,300 Israelis are dead and more than 2,600 Palestinians

in Gaza are dead, 30 Americans are among the dead.

Israel says it's sealed off access to areas along the Lebanese border because of the escalating

military exchanges with the Lebanese militia Hezbollah.

Jawad Rizqala reports Israel is closing areas within approximately 2 miles of the Lebanese

border to the public.

The Israeli military says it's disrupting GPS services along the border with Lebanon.
