President Biden sought to strike an optimistic note while also

said he knows that many look at the world today and see despair and want to

retreat, but he does not.

Biden called on world leaders to work together

to end the wars and take on other challenges

like climate change and artificial intelligence.

He also spoke about the difficult decision to end his bid for a second term and said

that some things are more important than staying in power.
