Charges has now been filed against Ryan Roth, the 58-year-old suspect in a possible assassination attempt over

the weekend against former President Donald Trump.

Markenzie La Point is the U.S. attorney handling that case and describes what happened while Trump was playing

golf at his course near West Palm Beach Sunday.

A U.S. Secret Service agent walking the golf course perimeter saw what appeared to be a rifle poking out of the tree line.

After the agent fired a surface weapon in the direction of the rifle,

a witness saw a man later identified as Ralph fleeing the area in the tree line.

Roth was later apprehended by officers.

The alleged gunman who's known to authorities faces felony firearms charges and is being

held secret service officials say he did not fire any shots

Trump was not hurt.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secret Service acting director Ronald Rose said today the Secret Service

will shift from reactive to readiness mode as the investigation

continues into the latest apparent assassination attempt against former President Trump.
