President Biden is kicking off a multi-day swing through parts of the West today.

NPR's Windsor-Johnston reports Biden's expected to make another pitch for his economic

agenda and announced new funding for climate change projects.

President Biden's first stop will be in Arizona a key battleground state.

He'll visit the Grand Canyon where he's expected to announce plans for a new national monument

to preserve more than 1 million acres.

From there, he'll travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to tout his administration's record

on job creation and efforts to lower inflation.

Later in the week, Biden will mark the first anniversary of the Pact Act in Salt Lake City,

Utah.

The bipartisan law provides new benefits to veterans who are exposed to toxic substances.

This trip comes ahead of a White House event next week that will mark one year since the

passage of Biden's signature climate bill, Windsor-Johnston and P.R. News.

A federal judge today has thrown out a counter-suit by former President Donald Trump against

writer E. Jean Carroll, whom Trump was found liable of sexually abusing and defaming after

a civil trial in Manhattan last year.

Trump accused Carroll of defamation for her repeated assertions he raped her in a New

York Department store dressing room nearly 30 years ago.

In May, a jury found Carroll proved Trump sexually abused her, but stopped short of finding

him liable for rape.

A jury awarded Carroll nearly $5 million in the case.
