At a Republican National Convention that has been highly choreographed, tonight's grand finale will likely feature more of that.

Former President Donald Trump is obviously the headliner.

For the past several nights he's appeared with his ear bandaged after surviving

an assassination attempt this past weekend in Pennsylvania.

Other speakers like the Reverend Franklin Graham say despite Trump's felony conviction, in connection

with payoffs to a porn star, those opposed to abortion,

believe he played a pivotal role.

Roe versus Wade had to be defeated,

and he put the judges in place to make that happen.

So I credit Donald J. Trump for that. No other president has been able to do that.

Trump during his speech tonight though may shy away from the

controversy of abortion issue. There are reports Trump has altered his

speech since the attempt on his life, including fewer attacks against President

Biden and more calls for unity.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is commenting on reports she privately told President

Biden his continued candidacy would hurt the party's chances of

retaking the House.
