President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with COVID.

His doctor says he has mild symptoms and he's taken his first dose of

Paxilvid.

MPR's deepest Chevron reports Biden was traveling in Las Vegas and canceled address

to Unidos, a Hispanic civil rights group.

The White House says Biden is experiencing mild upper respiratory symptoms, including a runny

nose and a cough.

He felt okay, his doctor says, for the first event of the day that he attended, but since he didn't feel better, Biden later took a COVID test and the results were positive.

Biden stopped by a Mexican restaurant in Las Vegas in the afternoon and did an interview with

Univision before he tested. Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre says Biden will

travel to Delaware as was originally planned. He will self isolate there and continue to carry out his duties.
