National Convention in Milwaukee and tonight's speakers lineup includes two of Donald Trump's

former rivals for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.

It's a tradition at political conventions for candidates who were attacking one

another just months ago to demonstrate that they're now on board. To that end

former Ambassador Nicki Haley is scheduled to speak tonight.

She was among Trump's toughest critics during the campaign

and the last to drop out of the race.

She is expected to voice full support for Trump.

Then Governor Ron Desantis of Florida will take the stage.

He had early high expectations during the primaries,

only to fade quickly finding little support from GOP voters.

Last night's convention program included an emotional visit by Trump himself,

his first formal public appearance since the weekend's attempt on his life.

Increasingly the investigation into this past weekend's assassination attempt against

former President Trump in Pennsylvania

is finding evidence that local police officers had radioed secret service agents to tell them

of a suspicious person on a building roof before Trump began speaking in Butler, Pennsylvania.
