Multiple senior House Democrats told leaders today

that President Biden should step aside as the

party's presidential nominee. Many Democrats still publicly support him

even as anxiety grows within their ranks, so far though there have been no

public calls from senators for

Biden to step aside.

Meanwhile, Biden's campaigning in Pennsylvania today, and as NPR's Tamara Keith reports

he appears to be answering critics with action.

While top congressional Democrats were meeting to discuss whether President Biden has what

it takes to beat former President Trump in November,

Biden was campaigning like a man was something to prove, shaking hands and taking

selfies for a long time at three separate stops, and delivering remarks at a union hall

without notes.

We got a lot to do folks, but we can do it.

We're on the cusp of getting so much done.

Biden has been joined at various points along the way by the state's two U.S. Senators, a congresswoman, and the governor.
