The My administration continues to expand efforts to tackle unauthorized migration

through the U.S. Southern border.

Earlier this month, the Department of Homeland Security announced two agreements with the

governments of China and Panama, and P.R.s Serio Martinez-Baltranj more.

The HHS says it restarted migrants to China last week.

According to the DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorcas, this was the first quote large charter flight since 2018,

and it happened in coordination with the Chinese government.

Also, the US recently signed an agreement with the government of Panama, whereby the

US will pay the cost of flying people back to their home countries.

The goal is to reduce the number of migrants crossing through the Darien gap, that's the

dangerous jungle between Panama and Colombia.

The route was used by more than half a million migrants last year prior to attempting to

cross into the US.
