U.S. intelligence picked up indications that Yvgeny Pregoshen and his Wagner group were

preparing to take military action in Russia and alerted senior U.S. leaders days before

the failed rebellion happened yesterday.

NPR's Tom Bowman has more.

Congressional and military leaders were told of Wagner head Yvgeny Pregoshen's plans

days before his mercenaries marched on the Russian city of Rostov.

Rebellion appeared to come to an end Saturday when a deal was struck with a Kremlin.

Pregoshen would go to Belarus and his troops would not face prosecution.

But there is wide skepticism about the deal in questions about what really happened in

Russia.

The state Antony Blinken told CBS that events in Russia were like a movie, adding, we haven't

seen the last act.

Meanwhile, Russian forces continue to strike Ukrainian cities with artillery and bombs.

Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Israeli leader is facing charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

Three years after the trial began, a key witness has finally begun to give testimony.

He testified that he offered Netanyahu and his wife gifts, and it became a regular supply
