Russian mercenaries have stopped their advance on Moscow, marking a major reversal in the

power struggle between the Russian military and the Vognor Group.

The BBC Sarah Rainesford reports the Kremlin struck a deal with the group just hours after

Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the uprising as a stab in the back.

Late last night, pictures emerged of the man himself, Yvgeny Prugoshen leaving for

Belarus as part of the climb down deal.

Yvgeny Prugoshen's next steps are unclear, like so much in this story.
