President Biden will hold his first official campaign rally since announcing his reelection

bid in April.

Biden is expected to outline his economic agenda during an event with union workers in Philadelphia

today.

NPR's Franco-Ordonia's reports Biden will also get a first-hand look at the section of

Interstate 95 that collapsed last weekend.

The trip to the swing state of Pennsylvania is a bit of a return for Biden who launched

his 2020 campaign at a Pittsburgh Union Hall.

He's appealing to union workers again at what will be the first political rally in his

2024 reelection campaign.

But this time in Philadelphia, while he's there, the president will also take an aerial

tour of the I-95 bridge collapse and receive an update on reconstruction efforts.

Part of the East Coast main thoroughfare was cut off after a tanker truck carrying gasoline

crashed and caught fire underneath an elevated section of the highway.

The White House says the president has instructed his team to move, quote, heaven and earth to

ensure the highway is rebuilt as soon as possible.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is heading to China this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the trip, Blinken said Washington and Beijing need to establish better

lines of communication and act responsibly toward each other and other nations.
