Pennygots resigned from the emergency three-member Israeli War Cabinet today

over a dispute with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

on the war in Gaza. He says Netanyahu is preventing the country from getting to a real

victory in its continuing war with Hamas.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Health Ministry says more than 270 people were killed

and hundreds, including children, were injured in the Israeli rescue operation this weekend that freed four hostages

taken by Hamas on October 7th.

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan says Israel has the right to launch strikes

in Gaza to rescue hostages.

We will continue to work with Israel to do that.

We will also continue to reinforce the point that all of their military operations,

including hostage rescue operations, should take every precaution to minimize

the amount of civilian harm or civilian casualties.

That is a point we will reinforce in all of our engagements with the Israelis going forward.
