Leaders of the G7 industrialized nations have recommitted to supporting Ukraine and its

resistance against Russia's invasion.

And, of course, Anthony Kuhn reports from Hiroshima, Ukrainian President Zelensky is expected

to attend the summit over the weekend.

In a statement, the G7 leaders said their support for Ukraine would not waver, nor would

their efforts to minimize the impact of Russia's illegal actions on the rest of the world.

They also pledged to ramp up sanctions on Russia and their enforcement.

The statement ended by noting that the pledge was made in Hiroshima, a symbol of peace.

G7 leaders began the summit by visiting a memorial, commemorating the U.S.'s atomic bombing

of Hiroshima in 1945.

Kako Ogura, an 85-year-old bombing survivor or Hibakshah in Japanese, told the leaders that

humanity must never again experience a nuclear disaster.

The Republican presidential field for 2024 just got another member today, Senator Tim

Scott of South Carolina filing paperwork to begin his candidacy, and P.R. Stongani goes

more.

Tim Scott says he's running as a conservative with an optimistic, positive message.

The only black Republican in the United States Senate, he has a campaign kickoff rally scheduled

for Monday in his hometown of North Charleston.

Mr. Scott is not the only South Carolinian in the race.

Former governor and you and ambassador Nikki Haley is also running.
