Live from NPR News in Washington, on Corva Coleman, Congressional and White House staff held high

level talks over the weekend on resolving the debt ceiling crisis.

President Biden says he thinks he'll meet again with top congressional leaders tomorrow

at the White House, but NPR's Tamer Keith reports that meeting has not yet been officially

announced.

The leaders had been scheduled to meet Friday, but the meeting was canceled, so staff level

talks could continue.

And they did.

President Biden's stopping on a Sunday bike ride to talk to the press didn't want to share

details.

What I've learned a long time ago, and you know as well as I do, it never is good to

characterize immigration and middle-regorization.

But I really think there's a desire on their part as well as ours to be agreement.

I think we'll be able to do it.

Biden is set to leave Wednesday for a meeting of the leaders of the world's top economies

in Hiroshima, Japan.

He said he still plans to go, at least as of now.

An official with Mexico's immigration agency says migrants from Central America and other

nations continue to arrive at a temporary shelter in Madamoros.

That city is across the border from Brownsville, Texas.
