Mexican authorities say they will no longer issue travel permits to migrants heading toward

the U.S. border.

The move comes as a pandemic or a rules known as Title 42 came to an end this week in

PRsator Peralta reports.

Mexico has been in lockstep with a U.S. policy that raises the requirements for migrants seeking

asylum.

The country has agreed to receive non-Mexican immigrants deported from the U.S.

In the past, the U.S. had to deport migrants to their home country.

Now the U.S. often simply buses them back to Mexico.

The two countries view this policy as a way to discourage migration from Latin America.

And now Mexican authorities are adding one more hurdle.

Migrants will no longer be given transit documents, and that means those still aiming to enter

the U.S. would have to sneak through Mexico and risk being jailed.
