Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Giles Snyder. Authorities in Texas have

yet to identify the gumman who carried out the latest deadly mash shooting eight

people were killed at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas before the gumman was

killed by police. Seven others were wounded three of them critically.

Catherine Hobbs of Mversation KERA describes what happened.

Witnesses say they heard multiple rounds being fired with some shots

breaking storefront glass and car windows. Allen's chief of police, Brian Harvey,

said an officer was responding to an unrelated call at the outlets when the

shooting took place. He heard gunshots located the gunshot located the shooter

shooter acted alone. Authorities did not immediately provide details about the

victims at the sprawling outdoor mall, but witnesses say they saw several bodies

Allen. The White House says President Biden has been briefed on the shooting in

Allen and that the administration has offered support to local officials.
