A Coleman police in Georgia say they've captured

the alleged gunman in a mass shooting yesterday

in Midtown, Atlanta.

Alex Helmock reports one person was killed

and four others were wounded.

Authorities say they captured 24-year-old

Dion Patterson about 10 miles from the

Northside Medical Hospital where he had an appointment.

Police say they used a camera network to track him up

a busy Atlanta interstate to a popular area in Cobb County.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens says it was a massive

police effort involving local, state, and federal authorities,

including the FBI and Secret Service.

Today is a day that we can go home and rest easy,

that the individual that calls harm in our community is under arrest,

but I also hope that we stay vigilant to continue to look at

a future where individuals that shouldn't have a gun in possession

won't have one.

Police say Patterson's family cooperated with the investigation.
