Even as polls continue to show President Donald Trump's public approval ratings plunging,

the latest being in ABC News Washington Post-Ipsos poll

that shows the president's job approval rating at 39 percent. The Republican leadership seems to be

hanging tough. Today, House Speaker Mike Johnson said he's confident in his party will hold on to

its majority with some special House races this year and the midterms next year looming.

No, I'm not worried at all. I just had a great meeting with the president at the White House,

and he's in good spirits, and we are as well. Richard Hudson, who's the chairman of the

National Republican Congressional Committee, was with me, and we talked about the upcoming races.

Recent poll numbers have shown Trump doing especially poorly due to some of his economic policies,

including tariffs and a trade fight with China.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker drew standing ovations from New Hampshire Democrats over the weekend as he hammered President Trump's administration.

Alex Degman of member station WB.B.E.Z reports it's raising questions about whether he'll enter the 2028 presidential race.
