The Supreme Court says the abortion pill Mifapristone, a widely used drug, will remain broadly

available for now.

The Justice's blocked lower court decisions that banned or limited the FDA approved use

of the drug.

Tonight's decision comes in response to an emergency request by the Justice Department.

But the Justice's for now left the case in the hands of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals,

which is scheduled oral arguments in the case for May 17th.

However, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals rules, the case will almost certainly end up

back at the Supreme Court with the potential for a decision next term in this case.

The FDA approved the use of that drug some 20 years ago.

Meanwhile, earlier today outside the Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C., demonstrations

were intensifying over access to the medication as tonight's mid-night, deadline, approached.

An autopsy report released by the Decalbe County Medical Examiner's office says it found

no gunpowder residue on the hands of a protester who was shot and killed in January near the

future site of Atlanta's Public Safety Training Center.

From member station WAB E. Shemaine Cruz reports official claimed the protester fired

first at a state trooper and six officers fired back.

The autopsy report shows the 26-year-old protester Manuel Taran suffered at least 57 gunshot wounds,

including one lethal wound to the head.

The incident followed more than a year of clashes between law enforcement and protesters,

who say they are concerned about the environmental impact of a $90 million 85-acre police and
