Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Jack Spear, as millions of people in the path of totality marveled at the site of today's solar eclipse,

Cleveland, Ohio was one of the cities in its path.

Several thousand people gathered at

Wade Oval, the park on Cleveland's east side to take in the rare site.

Ideastream public media's Connor Morris was there.

Jan Ridgeway, a grandmother of two, sat on blankets with her family and watched through eclipse glasses as the sky darkened.

Her young grandson Evan remarked that the sun looked like a frowny face as the moon began to pass by it.

So it was really neat to see this and to be able to see this in community, you know, with other people

around us and to witness their reaction to it as well.

Cleveland is one of a handful of major cities located on the path of totality for the

eclipse and the region saw hundreds of thousands of visitors for the once in a lifetime

event with hotels and short-term rentals booked for months and even years in advance.

President Biden is back in the crucial battleground state of Wisconsin.

President Biden traveled to Madison, Wisconsin where he outlined new plans to

ease student debt to more than 30 million borrowers.

The city is home to the University of Wisconsin and Madison College, where he announced the

plans to an excited audience.
