Former President Donald Trump has said to be arraigned hours from now in Manhattan.

Trump faces charges involving hush money payments to adult film extras storming Daniel shortly

before the 2016 election.

NPR's Ilya Maritz explains what to expect in the case once the charges are announced.

We don't think it's a particularly complex case, so if this were any other defendant and

any other situation, I would say it will proceed quickly.

But the defendant is Donald Trump.

He fought them in Hatton D.A. all the way to the Supreme Court twice.

And I think now we should expect him to throw up a lot of motions to try to slow this down

and stymiate.

Former D.A. Syvance Jr. said he thought Trump might even try to get the federal courts involved

here.

So it's really hard to say except that all of this will be playing out with the backdrop

of a presidential campaign.

A proposed six-week abortion ban passed the State Senate in Florida Monday, with GOP

supermajorities in both chambers of the state legislature, Democrats, are already preparing

for the ban to become law.

Reagan McCarthy of Member Station W.FSU has details.

The bill includes exemptions for rape and incest up until the 15-week mark and has some

exceptions for fatal fetal abnormalities and protecting the life of the pregnant person.
