Live from NPR News in Washington on Corvac Olman, Mexican authorities say it appears likely

that four Americans kidnapped in Northern Mexico were simply in the wrong place at the

wrong time.

NPR's Adapurral to reports two Americans were found dead, two others are back in the

U.S., and one Mexican has been arrested.

At a press conference, the Attorney General for the State of Tamalipas, Irving Barrios

Mojica, says the four Americans drove into Mexico at 9.18 a.m. and by 11.45, Gunmen

had opened fire on their white minivan.

It all seems like it was a confusion.

Barrios Mojica says one of the Americans was in Mexico for a cosmetic surgery procedure,

and the group got caught in the crossfire, likely between rival drug cartels.

The two Americans who survived are now back in the U.S. at a hospital in Brownsville,

and Mexican authorities say the investigation continues.

Most homicides in Mexico go unsolved, and to date, there are more than 100,000 Mexicans

who are missing.

The Justice Department is suing to block JetBlue's purchase of rival spirit airlines.

Attorney General Marik Garland claims the merger will wreck Spirit Airlines' unique business

model of disrupting the airline industry and will erase ultra-low prices for airline

passengers.

As outlined in the complaint, if the acquisition is approved, JetBlue plans to abandon

Spirit's business model, remove seats from Spirit's planes, and charge Spirit's customers
