from last Monday's earthquakes now tops 28,000.

NPR Jason Bobian is in the Turkish city of Ghazi on Tepp and reports aftershocks continue

with the region and frustration is growing over the relief and resuscable response.

Turkey has been hit with more than 2,000 aftershocks, some mild, some joltings since last

weeks major earthquakes. This as millions of Turks work to recover from the disaster

in northern Syria aid groups say as many as 5 million people may have lost their homes.

Search and rescue efforts in Syria have officially ended.

Yet in Turkey, rescue teams continue to find some survivors early on Sunday, a baby

and a man in his 20s were pulled alive from the rubble.

But with hundreds of thousands of people now living in tents or in their cars, there

are growing calls for more aid. The Turkish government in response has ordered all universities

closed at least until this summer so that college dormitories can be used as temporary

housing for the displaced.

As Turkey's president faces questions about the government's response to Monday's

quakes, officials have begun detaining or have issued a rest warrants for at least 113

people, allegedly involved in the construction of buildings that collapsed.

US fighter jets have now taken out three flying objects in the airspace over North America,

the latest yesterday. When US and Canadian fighter jets were scrambled to shoot down an

unidentified object over a Canada in the UConn.
