Live from NPR News in Washington. I'm Louise Givoni. A blockbuster result in the defamation lawsuit pressed against

former President Donald Trump by E. Jean Carroll. A federal jury has ordered Trump

to pay 83.3 million dollars in damages to Carol for ruining her credibility

as an advice columnist when he called her a liar after she accused him of sexual

assault. Trump's lawyer, Alina Habba,

says this is not the end of it.

We will immediately appeal.

We will set aside that ridiculous jury.

And I just want to remind you all of one thing.

I will continue with President Trump to fight for everybody's First Amendment right to speak.

This is one of several court cases involving Trump.

Some grounded Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft have begun flying against today.

NPR's Joel Rose reports Alaska and United Airlines are working to get their planes

inspected and cleared to fly.

Alaska Airlines has put several Boeing 7-9 jets back on its schedule.

Three weeks to the day after a door plug panel blew off a plane in mid-air.

Alaska CEO Ben Minikuchi says the planes will be safe to fly after

they're inspected and he predicted to investors that the airlines customers

will return. We don't expect a brand-related long-term impact right now I think we

expect our guests to come back to us.
