Live from NPR News in Washington. I'm Jack Spear. Former President Donald Trump is joining a motion to disqualify the Fulton County District Attorney

based on allegations of an improper relationship with a prosecutor she hired for the Georgia election probe.

The motion also dismisses Trump's charges from Member Station W A B in Atlanta Sam Green

Glasses Moore.

The unsubstantiated accusations came to light in a filing by Trump's co-defendant, Michael

Roman, whose alleging Fulton D.A. Fawny Willis has a conflict of interest tainting the prosecution.

Willis has not formally responded, though she did seem to acknowledge the controversy

in a speech at an Atlanta church and said she's facing undue scrutiny as a black woman.

Trump's lawyer Steve Saadou wrote that Willis wrongfully inserted, quote,

racial animus into this case to publicly denounce and rebuke the defendants.

Even if Willis is not disqualified, appeals could delay or derail Trump's criminal case.

Judge Scott McAfee has scheduled a hearing for February 15th.

The Federal Trade Commission says it's issued orders to five of the world's top AI developers

requiring them to provide information about their investments and partnerships with

major cloud service providers.

The five companies are Alphabet, Amazon, Anthropic, Microsoft, and Open AI.

And the orders are part of an inquiry the FTC says it's launching to better understand the relationship

between these companies and the competitive landscape.
