There's been a mass shooting in Southern California.

It happened last night to monitor a park just east of Los Angeles during a Chinese Lunar

New Year celebration.

The LA County Sheriff says nine people were killed.

A peaceful protest in downtown Atlanta turned violent last night when some protesters

set a police car on fire and started smashing windows.

Six people were arrested from member station WAB E in Atlanta.

Sherman Cruz has details.

700 people gathered to protest the killing of 26-year-old Manuel Taran at the proposed

site of a public safety training facility known as COP City by those opposed to its construction.

Authorities were clearing protesters at the site Wednesday when Taran allegedly shot

a state trooper and officers fired back.

But protesters dispute this.

Within minutes of marching through downtown Atlanta Saturday, a group began spray painting

buildings, breaking windows and damaging police cars.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens says many of those involved in the violence came from out

of town and pledged to have them prosecuted.
