And driving the day, Maga's Senate witching hour. Over the past 24 hours, the Internet's MAGA apparatus has come out in full force backing Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader,

Elon Musk, RFK, Vivek Ramoswamy, Tucker Carlson, Charlie Kirk. One at a time, they all declared

that Trump's election night romp necessitated a complete overhaul atop the chamber. And of course,

they held up Scott, who's long been close with Donald Trump,

as the man to lead that change. This morning, we have a newsflash for Scott's MAGA friends.

Congratulations, you almost certainly just killed Scott's candidacy in the crib. It all started around

7 p.m. last night when MAGA hardliner, Benny Johnson, tweeted what appears to be a fake whip

count of how GOP senators

plan to vote in the leadership race to replace McConnell. He sent that, of course, to his 3 million

followers. And we can say with confidence that this was a fake whip count because he had John Thune,

who, as you know, is running for the post, voting for John Cornyn, who is his top opponent.

At that point, the rather sleepy Senate race went from zero to mock 10.

Magotrolls around the internet began targeting and harassing GOP senators online, accusing

them of being traitors for backing Thune or Cornyn.

Here's one example.

Senator Ted Bud is allegedly voting for Rhino Cornyn for

Senate Majority Leader. Let him know how you feel. That person also sent out tweets targeting

Ted Cruz, Mike Crapo, John Boosman, and even Jim Banks, who, by the way, is the most conservative

member of the freshman class. And that was just the PG version of the tweets we saw last night.

One of the tweets said that any Republican who votes for this garbage human is trash.
