Coming up on Sword and Scale Daily, an Ohio mother is sentenced to life with the possibility

of parole in 37 years for killing her three sons over the course of 13 months.

A Florida man was arrested for the 1996 rape of a 17 year old girl after evidence in

the case was submitted for retesting.

A senior South African prosecutor died in court after a shotgun used his evidence in

trial was accidentally discharged.

Finally, a Michigan inmate serving life without parole for the gruesome murder of a teenage

runaway will be sentenced following a Supreme Court decision.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that on Tuesday, November 19th, 26th-year-old Brittany Pilkington

pled guilty to killing her three young sons over a 13 month period.

She has been sentenced to life in prison and will be eligible for parole in 37 years.

The first boy to die was three month old Nile who passed away on July 22nd, 2014.

His cause of death was listed as sudden infant death syndrome.

Due to the findings, this did not arouse any suspicions.

It is, not until April 6th, 2015, when Nile's four-year-old brother Gavin also passed away.

Gavin's death prompted a criminal investigation as well as an investigation by welfare services.

While the investigation was ongoing, Brittany and her husband Joe had another son.

The infant, Noah, and his sister were temporarily removed from the house by children's services
